About the Role
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a leading nonprofit research organization committed to generating agricultural solutions for hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in Africa. We are currently seeking three talented and dedicated Nigerian nationals for the position of Project Supervisor at our vibrant headquarters in Ibadan. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our state-of-the-art campus infrastructure and ensuring the smooth execution of vital institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, review, and analyze work orders and service requests to determine scope, priorities, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate activities among FMS units, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and seamless project execution.
- Develop comprehensive project work plans, schedules, and cost estimates to support timely and efficient implementation.
- Monitor project and work order execution to ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and administrative issues that may affect project delivery.
- Ensure all works comply with approved designs, drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and organizational standards.
- Implement and monitor materials standardization protocols to promote consistency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct site inspections and track project progress to verify compliance with approved plans and performance targets.
- Prepare periodic reports on service requests, project status, completed works, outstanding issues, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate project records and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Coordination Unit.
- Possession of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience performing a similar role in construction, facilities management, or operations coordination.
- Prior working experience within a research institute, international organization, or corporate environment is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural engineering processes with the ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.
