About the Role

Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding our climate future. Comprising academics, environmentalists, agriculturalists, and health experts, we focus our interventions in the BAY states (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe). Our core thematic areas include Climate Education, Livelihood and Climate Smart Agriculture, Gender-Based Violence Protection, Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, and WASH. We are currently looking for a skilled Project Engineer to support our engineering and infrastructure initiatives across these communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and monitor infrastructure and engineering projects related to WASH, environmental sustainability, and community development.
  • Ensure all project designs and implementations adhere to environmental safety standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including agricultural, health, and building experts to deliver integrated community interventions.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and project timelines.
  • Supervise contractors and field technicians on-site in the BAY states to ensure quality assurance and timely project delivery.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation visits to project sites to assess progress and resolve technical challenges.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in project engineering, preferably within the NGO or development sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of WASH infrastructure and climate-resilient construction practices.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work within the BAY states (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe).
