About the Role
Fort Knox Group, a premier diversified security and financial organization with over 95 years of combined global expertise, is seeking a meticulous and driven Project Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Abuja, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee project cost management, ensure strict financial compliance, and provide vital fiscal insights to drive the successful delivery of our high-profile infrastructural and operational initiatives across the West African sub-region.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate, comprehensive financial records and documentation for all active construction and renovation projects.
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost performance while tracking payments to contractors, artisans, suppliers, and vendors.
- Review invoices, purchase requests, and payment documents to ensure complete accuracy and proper authorization.
- Prepare detailed project cost reports, financial updates, and variance analyses for management review.
- Reconcile project expenses, vendor accounts, and manage job cost accounting including WIP reporting, progress billing, and change orders.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Site Teams to identify and escalate financial risks.
- Support internal audits, financial reviews, and ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory active professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized body.
- 3 to 7 years of proven professional experience in construction or project accounting.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction costing, procurement processes, project expenditure tracking, and accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, high level of accountability, and robust integrity.
