About the Role
Corus International is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Technical Advisor to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this impactful role, you will lead the development and implementation of zonal work, ensure strong local stakeholder engagement, and supervise agricultural extension officers. You will play a vital role in advancing sustainable agricultural practices, improving livelihoods, and contributing to our global mission of ending poverty.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of zonal work while ensuring strong local stakeholder engagement.
- Provide expert technical guidance, capacity strengthening, and supervision for Agriculture Extension Officers across all zones.
- Manage cocoa field operations spanning from nursery management to harvesting and production.
- Oversee initiatives related to Natural Resources Management, cocoa traceability systems, crop management, and produce buyback programs.
- Support farmer organizations, out-grower models, contract farming, and youth and women agricultural enterprises.
- Integrate market development approaches to link agricultural producers directly to lucrative markets.
- Maintain compliance with the Corus Code of Conduct, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and abuse-free working environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in cocoa field operations and the agricultural sector.
- Strong technical expertise in the cocoa value chain, certification programs, and sustainability initiatives.
- Practical background in managing out-grower schemes, agricultural extension services, and business development.
- Exceptional cross-cultural, communication, and interpersonal skills with proven community engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
