About the Role
Corus International is an ensemble of global leaders in international development and humanitarian assistance committed to ending poverty and building healthy communities worldwide. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Technical Advisor to lead the development and implementation of zonal work and ensure strong local stakeholder engagement in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will provide technical guidance, drive capacity strengthening, and supervise agricultural extension officers to optimize our cocoa value chain and sustainability programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of zonal work plans while ensuring robust local stakeholder engagement.
- Provide expert technical guidance, capacity strengthening, and supervision to Agriculture Extension Officers across designated zones.
- Manage cocoa field operations spanning from nursery establishment to harvesting, traceability systems, and crop management.
- Oversee out-grower schemes, contract farming, business development services, and agricultural extension delivery.
- Collaborate with market development initiatives to link producers profitably to local and international markets.
- Promote sustainable practices including natural resources management, soil fertility, and pest control.
- Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in cocoa field operations and agricultural value chain development.
- Proven expertise in cocoa certification, sustainability programs, traceability systems, and out-grower management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective cross-cultural community relationships and mentor teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, paired with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
