Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academic leaders for the position of Professor in Vocational and Technical Education within our esteemed Faculty of Education. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering innovative research in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic trajectory of the department, mentoring the next generation of educators, and contributing to the university's growing reputation for academic distinction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students, including Master's and PhD candidates.
- Design, review, and update curriculum content to meet contemporary industry standards and educational needs.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees to support institutional governance and development.
- Engage in community service and forge academic partnerships that enhance the profile of the university.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or possess equivalent academic standing in Vocational and Technical Education.
- Must have a robust publication record comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print, including four (4) in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Exceptional teaching, mentoring, and administrative capabilities within a tertiary institution.
