Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and accomplished academics for the position of Professor in the Department of Social Work. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering groundbreaking research in Nasarawa State and across Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the academic landscape, mentoring the next generation of social work professionals, and contributing to the university's vibrant intellectual community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Department of Social Work.
- Design, update, and deliver comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in line with national and global standards.
- Mentor junior academic staff and actively participate in departmental and faculty governance.
- Secure research grants and contribute significantly to community development initiatives addressing contemporary social challenges.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an exceptionally qualified Reader ready for progression.
- Possess a robust academic publishing record comprising a minimum of twenty (20) publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print, including four (4) papers published in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrate verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
