The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university established in 1970, is seeking a distinguished and visionary Professor in Public Health for the Department of Nursing Sciences. As a Professor of Public Health, you will play a pivotal role in the academic and administrative development of the department. Your core duties will include:

• Providing robust academic leadership in teaching, curriculum development, and quality assurance within Public Health and Nursing Sciences.
• Conducting high-impact, peer-reviewed research and securing competitive research grants to address critical public health challenges.
• Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student research, including Master and PhD theses.
• Engaging in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, as well as contributing to community development initiatives.
• Fostering national and international collaborations with healthcare institutions, government agencies, and industry partners.

Candidates must meet the rigorous academic and professional standards required for a professorial chair in a Nigerian federal university:

• Possession of a PhD in Public Health or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
• A stellar academic track record, evidenced by substantial teaching experience at the university level and a robust portfolio of high-quality publications in reputable journals.
• General academic prerequisite: A First Degree with not less than a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a completed PhD.
• Demonstrated success in academic administration, curriculum delivery, and postgraduate student supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills suited for a dynamic academic environment.
