About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academic leaders for the prestigious position of Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Established in 2011, our institution is rapidly growing as a hub of academic distinction and research innovation in Nigeria, located in the serene capital of Nasarawa State.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Professor, you will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Deliver high-quality lectures and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement.
- Lead groundbreaking research initiatives and publish findings in reputable local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects to successful completion.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
Candidates must meet the rigorous academic and publication standards required for a professorial chair in a Nigerian federal university.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be a senior Reader ready for advancement in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
- Possess a strong publication record comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
