About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and distinguished academics for the prestigious position of Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Located in the vibrant capital of Nasarawa State, our institution is dedicated to advancing higher education, rigorous academic research, and community development in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our expanding Department of Nutrition and Dietetics under the Faculty of Radiography & Applied Health Science, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals and driving impactful research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Design, update, and deliver comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in line with national and international academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, including Masters and PhD candidates to successful completion.
- Publish high-impact scholarly articles in reputable local and foreign peer-reviewed index journals.
- Collaborate with faculty members, industry stakeholders, and healthcare institutions to secure research grants and foster strategic partnerships.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an equivalent senior academic at a recognized university.
- Possess a strong academic background with a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Out of the total publications, at least sixteen (16) must be in print, with a minimum of four (4) published in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated verifiable evidence of successfully supervising at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
