About the Role

FMR Agency is recruiting a proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support the dynamic procurement operations of a fast-paced supermarket business. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality products, negotiating favorable terms with vendors, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods at competitive prices to maintain seamless daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and procure a diverse range of products, materials, and supplies required for daily supermarket operations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at highly competitive prices.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and ensure the timely delivery of all purchased goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels closely and collaborate with the Inventory Officer to prevent stock shortages and overstocking.
  • Conduct regular market surveys across Lagos to identify new suppliers, pricing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive purchase orders and maintain accurate, up-to-date procurement documentation.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of all supplied goods against generated purchase orders upon delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance consistently and resolve any procurement-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal company procurement policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports and perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of an OND in Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of proven professional experience working as a Procurement Officer is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing a wide variety of supermarket retail products and managing diverse supplier networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Lagos market, key supplier networks, and major commercial trading areas.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other essential Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound purchasing decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness to reside in the company's shared staff accommodation as required.
