About the Role
Scruples Resources, a premier consultancy and human resource development firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Process Engineer II to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving operational excellence, providing technical oversight, and delivering innovative process engineering solutions across the petroleum refining and chemical process industries.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a design team in developing basic process design specifications and technical deliverables during front-end and detailed engineering phases.
- Supervise junior engineers in creating heat and material balances, design flow plans, equipment designs, and preliminary hydraulic and utility balances.
- Conduct rigorous process optimization studies to identify capital and operating cost savings as well as process configuration alternatives.
- Provide technical oversight for engineering contractors to ensure strict adherence to company methods, guidelines, and project specifications.
- Participate actively in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews for new, modified, or existing plant facilities.
- Provide expert commissioning and start-up assistance for new or modified facilities as required.
- Establish organizational structures and staffing processes to support project execution.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent accredited discipline.
- Extensive professional experience within the petroleum refining or chemical process industries, or with a reputable engineering contractor.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital project development and technical execution.
- Exceptional ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong technical and business communication skills.
