HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, is seeking a talented and results-driven Process Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing plant in Ewekoro, Ogun State. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in optimizing plant production, enhancing operational efficiency, elevating product quality, and championing continuous performance improvement initiatives within a world-class industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously analyze equipment and system performance, including specific electrical, thermal energy, and refractory consumption, proposing data-driven solutions to achieve budgetary goals.
  • Promote the increased utilization of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR), providing critical technical expertise to evaluate their process impact and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Cooperate in the design, economic feasibility studies, and commissioning of new systems and equipment modifications to ensure seamless plant de-bottlenecking.
  • Ensure stringent adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies across all plant operations.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and performance targets, supervising and coaching operational personnel to build comprehensive process knowledge throughout the facility.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of Expert Optimizers and traditional process control tools while driving impactful benchmarking and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or cement production environment.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical process control methods, experimental design, and project management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic process measurements, conduct comprehensive plant audits, and analyze material, thermal, and gas balances.
  • Strong understanding of process control tools, control loop tuning, and expert system strategies.
