About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Technologist to join our esteemed Paul Odili College of Medicine within the Faculty of Laboratory Technical Services, located in Lugbe, Abuja. In this crucial leadership role, you will oversee advanced laboratory operations, manage technical staff, and ensure adherence to stringent quality assurance and safety protocols to support both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and research.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise technical staff and coordinate daily laboratory operations within the College of Medicine.
- Manage laboratory equipment, inventory, maintenance schedules, and quality control systems.
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and practical laboratory activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with academic and research staff to facilitate high-level medical experiments and clinical studies.
- Perform other relevant administrative and technical duties assigned by the University authority.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
- Appropriate professional registration or valid license where applicable.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in recognized laboratory facilities, universities, or teaching hospitals.
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory administration, equipment management, and safety protocols.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Medical fitness and capability to perform required laboratory and administrative duties.
