We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Nursing Officer (In-Patient) to join our esteemed healthcare team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will provide advanced nursing care and senior clinical guidance within our 24-hour ward-based care setting, ensuring that patients receive exceptional, compassionate, and evidence-based medical attention while supporting and mentoring our junior healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care and act as a senior clinical resource within the in-patient stream.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior nursing staff, trainees, and interns.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately within the professional scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing documentation while enforcing strict infection-prevention and clinical-governance standards.
  • Oversee shift handovers, admission processes, and discharge planning to ensure seamless patient transitions.
  • Manage clinical escalations for deteriorating patients and guide complex ward-based care decisions.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification from an accredited institution, or a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc/BSc Nursing) from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-registration nursing experience with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Valid NMCN registration/license and proven compliance with Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) guidelines.
  • Successful completion of NYSC or possession of a valid exemption certificate (for degree holders).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in nursing assessment, care planning, patient safety protocols, and effective clinical communication.
