About the Role
The Cross River State Government is seeking a dedicated Principal Medical Officer (Consultant) II to provide advanced healthcare services and leadership within the state's medical facilities. This role offers an opportunity to impact public health positively in the vibrant city of Calabar.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical consultations, diagnoses, and advanced treatment plans for patients within state healthcare facilities.
- Supervise resident doctors, medical officers, interns, and other healthcare personnel to ensure high standards of clinical practice.
- Participate in emergency medical responses, ward rounds, and complex surgical procedures as required by the specialty.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health on public health initiatives, disease prevention campaigns, and healthcare policy implementation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with national healthcare standards.
- Conduct continuous medical education and training sessions for junior medical staff to enhance overall service delivery.
- Possession of a recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a fully accredited institution.
- Must be a fellow of a recognized postgraduate medical college (e.g., NPMCN, WACP, WACS) with 1 to 4 years of post-fellowship practice experience.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
