Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration, strategic planning, and service delivery of the John Harris Library.
  • Manage, curate, and expand physical and digital information repositories to support undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
  • Provide advanced reference and research support services to faculty members, researchers, and students.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional and support library staff to ensure high standards of performance.
  • Collaborate with university faculties and departments to integrate information literacy into academic programs.
  • Implement modern library automation systems, institutional repositories, and digital archiving solutions.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a PhD degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related discipline.
  • Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching or relevant professional experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modern library management systems, digital resources, and information technology.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills tailored for an academic environment.
