We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Principal Laboratory Scientist to join our facility in Kaduna. In this vital role, you will act as a senior practitioner, performing advanced testing, maintaining rigorous quality assurance, and providing essential technical leadership to our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex and specialized laboratory testing while serving as a reliable technical resource for colleagues.
- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior laboratory staff and trainees.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosafety protocols and maintain high standards of quality assurance at the section level.
- Contribute actively to departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development programs.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and accurate record-keeping.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of required national internship and NYSC, or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-registration medical laboratory science experience beyond the entry level.
- Demonstrated experience in guiding junior staff and collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Advanced knowledge of multidisciplinary laboratory practices, quality control, and biosafety compliance.
- Specialty training or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
