Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans and curricula aligned with the Yoruba language syllabus and national educational standards.
  • Teach Yoruba language, literature, and cultural values effectively and interactively across various primary grade levels.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments, external examinations, and engaging oral presentations.
  • Organise enriching cultural events, invite guest speakers, and coordinate educational field trips to enhance student learning.
  • Incorporate current events, storytelling, and relevant themes into lessons to ensure content remains engaging and relatable.
  • Integrate modern educational technology and 21st-century teaching methods into daily classroom instruction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Yoruba Language, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certification is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Yoruba grammar, literature, history, and cultural traditions.
  • Proven proficiency in using educational technology, computers, and digital learning tools.
  • Familiarity with modern, learner-centred pedagogy and primary education best practices.
