About the Role
BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE, a leading enterprise in the photovoltaic and new energy sector, is recruiting a qualified Power & Electrical Technician to join our technical operations team. You will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our high-voltage electrical infrastructure, ensuring seamless power distribution and minimal production downtime across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, power distribution panels, and switchgears
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex industrial electrical failures, circuitry issues, and motor control centers (MCC) to minimize downtime
- Monitor site power supply stability, backup power systems, and power factor correction equipment
- Perform electrical installations, wiring, load balancing, and equipment connections in compliance with safety standards
- Conduct inspections, maintain detailed maintenance logs, and prepare comprehensive fault reports on facility electrical infrastructure
- Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, high-voltage safety practices, and all industrial safety regulations
- Education: OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Electronics, or certified Trade Test Grade I in Electrical Work
- Technical expertise in reading electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLD), and operating high-voltage testing instruments
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, three-phase electrical systems, industrial wiring practices, and safety codes
- Exceptional attention to detail with rapid troubleshooting capabilities and ability to work shift rotations and emergency call-outs
