About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the day-old chicks sector, is looking for a qualified and experienced Poultry Veterinarian to maintain the health and welfare of our breeder and commercial flocks. In this vital role, you will implement robust disease prevention, biosecurity, and vaccination programmes to guarantee exceptional poultry farming standards.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor health status and implement disease prevention programmes across breeder and commercial flocks.
- Diagnose poultry diseases through clinical and post-mortem examinations, alongside laboratory testing.
- Design, supervise, and evaluate vaccination schedules and monitor vaccine effectiveness.
- Ensure strict implementation and continuous improvement of farm biosecurity protocols.
- Analyse flock performance data including mortality, feed conversion, and hatchability.
- Provide technical guidance and training to farm managers and poultry attendants.
- Respond promptly to disease outbreaks and coordinate containment and recovery efforts.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognised institution.
- Valid practising licence and registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial poultry production.
- Proven expertise in flock health management, biosecurity, and disease diagnosis.
