About the Role
The Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a leading indigenous non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives, enhancing health outcomes, and supporting vulnerable populations across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and compassionate professional to join our team as a PMTCT Clinical Services Support Officer. In this role, you will coordinate and provide critical technical support for Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) and elimination of vertical transmission services, directly impacting maternal and infant health outcomes within supported facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and clinical oversight for PMTCT services across supported health facilities within the assigned command.
- Strengthen HIV testing, prompt linkage to care, ART initiation, adherence, retention, and viral load monitoring for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
- Support the identification, enrollment, and longitudinal follow-up of HIV-exposed infants (HEI) and mother-infant pairs.
- Enhance Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) services by ensuring timely sample collection, result return, documentation, and prompt ART initiation for positive infants.
- Conduct routine supportive supervision, mentorship, case reviews, and targeted capacity building for healthcare workers.
- Monitor PMTCT performance indicators, identify service delivery gaps, and spearhead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) interventions.
- Improve documentation standards, data quality, and reporting accuracy across all relevant PMTCT source documents and electronic medical records.
- Collaborate seamlessly with facility management, government counterparts, and community structures to foster integrated health service delivery.
- Degree in Medicine (MBBS), Nursing/Midwifery, or a closely related clinical discipline from a recognized institution with valid professional registration and practicing license.
- Demonstrated professional experience in HIV clinical services, specifically focusing on PMTCT, maternal and child health, or related public health programming.
- Comprehensive knowledge of national PMTCT guidelines, maternal ART, EID, HEI follow-up, and pediatric HIV care.
- Proven expertise in supportive supervision, mentorship, performance monitoring, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and technical report-writing skills.
- Familiarity with government health systems and donor-funded HIV programs in Nigeria.
