About the Role
Olam Agri is a market-leading, differentiated food, feed, and fiber agri-business with a global origination footprint and deep market expertise. We are currently looking for a strategic and results-driven Plant Head to lead our manufacturing facility in Kaduna, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for the overall management of day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while upholding the highest standards of food safety, environmental compliance, and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily plant operations including production, processing, quality, engineering, projects, and QEHS to ensure uninterrupted and compliant functioning.
- Ensure adherence to rigorous quality systems and food safety standards through regular shop floor reviews, audits, and prompt corrective actions.
- Optimize production costs by monitoring OEEs, reducing wastages, managing conversion costs, and driving root cause analysis.
- Lead QEHS initiatives in coordination with the Central Quality team and implement sustainable operational systems.
- Drive engineering excellence through preventive maintenance, cost-controlled repairs, and timely project execution.
- Manage industrial relations by leading union discussions, maintaining industrial discipline, and improving labor productivity.
- Prepare and control comprehensive plant budgets for manpower, energy, materials, maintenance, and overheads.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputable institute.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in plant management and manufacturing operations.
- Strong exposure to project execution and large-scale plant operations within a leading FMCG organization is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance systems, food safety, and environmental standards.
