About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Pigging Specialist to join our dynamic operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting comprehensive pipeline pigging activities, including the preparation, deployment, monitoring, retrieval, and inspection of pipeline pigs. You will play a vital part in supporting pipeline cleaning, inspection, product displacement, integrity management, and maintenance while ensuring strict adherence to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate pipeline pigging activities in accordance with approved work procedures, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Select and recommend appropriate types of pigs based on pipeline characteristics, operational needs, and integrity objectives.
- Support the preparation, inspection, and maintenance of pigs and associated pigging equipment prior to deployment.
- Coordinate launching and receiving activities, monitor operations, and provide technical support during tracking and retrieval.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, inspection, and engineering teams to support cleaning, gauging, dewatering, and displacement.
- Assist with troubleshooting operational problems and implement effective corrective actions promptly.
- Verify that pig traps, valves, fittings, and temporary equipment are safely and properly prepared before operations commence.
- Ensure robust safety controls, permits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks are strictly executed.
- Maintain accurate records, document retrieved pipeline debris, and assist in preparing comprehensive technical reports.
- HND, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Pipeline, or Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional training or certification in pipeline pigging, operations, or pipeline integrity is a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience in pipeline pigging operations within the oil and gas or energy sector.
- Strong working knowledge of pipeline systems, pig traps, P&IDs, valves, and associated surface equipment.
- Comprehensive understanding of pipeline cleaning, batching, dewatering, and safe work practices.
