About the Role
The Nigerian Navy is seeking a dedicated and professionally trained Physiotherapy Technician to join our esteemed medical services team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the physical rehabilitation and wellness of our personnel, ensuring our naval force remains strong, resilient, and mission-ready. You will work alongside multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in a dynamic and disciplined environment dedicated to the defence and economic prosperity of Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Assist licensed physiotherapists in the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with physical injuries or musculoskeletal conditions.
- Administer prescribed physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions and accurately document treatment outcomes in medical records.
- Prepare, maintain, and sterilize physiotherapy equipment and ensure the treatment area remains clean and safe.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with military medical staff to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation plans for injured personnel.
- Adhere strictly to medical ethics, safety protocols, and naval healthcare standards at all times.
- Minimum qualification of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Lower Credit or a recognized professional qualification in Physiotherapy or a relevant allied health field.
- Must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent with at least 5 credit passes, including English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Health Science, and Mathematics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
