About the Role
Hope Spring Community Humanitarian Initiative, a recognized non-governmental organization registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission and partnered with Hope Spring Water UK, is seeking a passionate Nutrition Officer to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will champion health and wellness by driving nutrition interventions that combat malnutrition and uplift vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct situation analyses and research on nutrition trends, health, and related factors to inform programme planning and design.
- Plan, implement, and monitor nutrition activities, including malnutrition screening, growth monitoring, outpatient therapeutic programmes, and stabilization centres.
- Support the management of acute malnutrition and prevention programmes, such as IMAM, MIYCN/IYCF counselling, and micronutrient supplementation.
- Provide technical support, on-the-job training, coaching, and capacity building to health workers and community volunteers.
- Ensure proper management of nutrition supplies and maintain high quality standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including the Ministry of Health and local communities for integrated service delivery linking nutrition with WASH and food security.
- Collect, analyse, and report data, preparing accurate progress and donor reports.
- Conduct community sensitization, awareness campaigns, and home visits including defaulter tracing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in nutrition programming within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
- Strong knowledge of IMAM, IYCF, and other standard nutrition protocols in Nigeria.
- Excellent data collection, analytical, and reporting skills.
