About the Role
The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), a leading tertiary healthcare institution in Nigeria, is currently seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Physiotherapy Intern. Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and assist senior physiotherapists in evaluating, planning, and implementing physical therapy treatment programs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, clinical meetings, and departmental case presentations.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and electrophysical modalities to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties assigned by the Hospital Management or supervising consultants.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) degree from a recognized university.
- Must possess provisional registration with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and empathy skills when interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
