About the Role
Al-Hikma International Academy, a prominent private Islamic school located in Mararaba-Gurku, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State, is seeking a passionate and qualified Physical and Health Education (PHE) Teacher. Since 2009, our institution has successfully integrated a robust Western academic curriculum with deep-rooted Islamic values. We are looking for an energetic professional dedicated to fostering physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles among our nursery, primary, and secondary students while upholding the moral standards of our school community.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physical and Health Education lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Promote physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork through structured sports, games, and recreational activities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
- Organize inter-house sports, physical training sessions, and school athletic events.
- Ensure a safe environment during all physical activities by properly maintaining sports equipment and facilities.
- Instill Islamic moral values, discipline, and sportsmanship during all classes and extracurricular sports.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and school administration to support overall student development.
- Minimum of an NCE, B.Ed, B.Sc, or relevant degree in Physical and Health Education or related fields.
- Proven teaching experience in a recognized primary or secondary school environment.
- Strong knowledge of various sports, athletic training, and health education principles.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to align teaching methods with Islamic values and institutional standards.
