About the Role
The University of Lagos, a premier institution founded in 1962, is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a talented and creative Photographer / Editor (Intern). This role is ideal for passionate individuals looking to kickstart their media career in a vibrant academic environment. You will work closely with our communications and media teams to document university events, promotional campaigns, and daily campus activities, translating our rich heritage into compelling visual stories.
Key Responsibilities- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of university lectures, seminars, cultural events, and sports activities.
- Edit and retouch photos, as well as assemble video footage, ensuring high production standards for digital and print media.
- Organize, manage, and maintain the university's digital media asset library and photography equipment.
- Collaborate with the public relations and communications team to brainstorm visual concepts for social media campaigns and newsletters.
- Assist in setting up lighting and audio equipment for studio sessions and live-streamed events.
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Mass Communication, Fine Arts, Photography, or a related field.
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing strong photography and video editing skills using industry-standard software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro.
- A keen eye for detail, composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design or motion graphics will be an added advantage.
