About the Role
Olive Grove College is a premier, co-educational Christian secondary institution situated in Ugwuomu Nike, Enugu, Nigeria, dedicated to bridging the gap between advanced academic scholarship and comprehensive spiritual development. We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Physical and Health Education (PHE) Teacher to join our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will play a vital part in promoting physical wellness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits among our secondary school students while upholding our core Christian values.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and structured PHE lessons in accordance with the national and school curriculum.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline through practical sports activities and athletic training.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment both in the classroom and on the sports field.
- Manage sports equipment and facilities effectively, ensuring proper safety protocols are always followed.
- Participate in school-wide sports events, inter-house competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to support the overall spiritual, moral, and academic growth of students.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Physical and Health Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of active teaching experience in a recognized secondary school setting.
- Strong Christian values aligned with the mission and ethos of Olive Grove College.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Proven classroom management skills with a strong knack for maintaining discipline and enthusiasm.
- Certification in First Aid or CPR is an added advantage.
