About the Role
Intersect Consortium, a leading organization in the mental health and addiction space across Africa, is seeking a professional and compassionate Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while promoting holistic patient wellness and adherence to therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately dispense, label, and package prescribed medications while providing clear patient counseling on dosage, dietary requirements, side effects, and proper storage.
- Review prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) remedies to ensure suitability, checking past medication histories to guarantee patient safety.
- Render clinical advice, monitor patient responses to drug regimens, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Conduct routine drug inventory audits, manage stock levels, and ensure strict compliance with regulatory guidelines and controlled substance policies.
- Provide expert advice on non-prescription remedies, lifestyle modifications, and natural health products to support general wellness.
- Maintain accurate records of patient profiles, registries, and inventory while identifying opportunities for operational process improvements.
- Pharmacy Technician qualification or certificate from an institution accredited by relevant Nigerian regulatory authorities.
- Valid and current registration and practicing license with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a hospital, community pharmacy, rehabilitation facility, or related healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication handling, stock management, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and healthcare information systems.
