Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively in the surgical suite.
- Prepare the operating theatre, ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functioning properly.
- Assist surgeons and scrub nurses effectively during various surgical procedures, including orthopaedics, neuro/spine, and reconstructive surgery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological status continuously throughout surgeries, promptly reporting any anomalies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care, medication administration, and surgical counts.
- Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and aseptic techniques.
- Provide reassuring pre-operative education and post-operative instructions to patients and their families.
- Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife/Perioperative Nurse with a valid practising license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of active clinical experience in a recognized surgical or perioperative setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure emergency situations.
