About the Role
The Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a leading indigenous non-governmental organization dedicated to saving lives, enhancing health outcomes, and supporting vulnerable populations in Nigeria. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Pediatrics Clinical Services Officer to provide technical leadership and oversight for pediatric and adolescent HIV services across supported facilities in Kogi State. In this role, you will champion pediatric case finding, Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), ART optimization, viral load suppression, and retention in care, aligning all interventions with national guidelines and donor requirements to ensure sustainable health systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive technical oversight for pediatric and adolescent HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services across supported facilities.
- Strengthen pediatric HIV case finding through EID, index testing, PMTCT, TB, nutrition, and inpatient entry points.
- Support timely ART initiation, appropriate pediatric dosing, regimen optimization, and the management of treatment failure.
- Strengthen EID and HIV-exposed infant (HEI) follow-up, ensuring efficient sample collection, result return, and prompt linkage to care.
- Monitor pediatric and adolescent viral load eligibility, sample collection, suppression, and management of unsuppressed clients.
- Conduct routine supportive supervision, clinical mentorship, case reviews, and capacity building for frontline healthcare workers.
- Analyze program performance data and implement Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) interventions to bridge identified service gaps.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical or public health experience, specifically within HIV programming.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric and adolescent HIV treatment, EID, ART optimization, Advanced Health Disease (AHD), and TB/HIV services.
- Proven experience in clinical mentorship, supportive supervision, and program performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and technical report-writing skills.
