About the Role
Uniccon Group is dedicated to building Africa's economy through innovative technology solutions, and we are currently looking for a talented PCB and Embedded System Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will take charge of end-to-end electronic design, translating complex concepts from circuit schematic capture and PCB layout to firmware programming, manual prototype soldering, and comprehensive hardware debugging.
Key Responsibilities- Create single, double, and multi-layer PCB layouts using KiCad, Altium Designer, or EasyEDA, while managing component selection and manufacturing packages like Gerber and BOM.
- Perform manual soldering of SMD components, test power rails, route signal paths, and troubleshoot hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Develop and edit embedded C/C++ firmware to interface microcontrollers with sensors, actuators, and wireless modules using communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, LoRa, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing principles and maintain accurate documentation of design revisions, test logs, and schematic updates.
- Minimum of an ND or HND, or equivalent practical experience, in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EDA suites such as KiCad, Altium Designer, EasyEDA, or Eagle.
- Practical understanding of analog and digital electronics with strong soldering capabilities and clear technical documentation habits.
