Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual function accurately.
- Diagnose and manage refractive errors and common ocular conditions, providing appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Prescribe and oversee optical and therapeutic management plans within the professional scope of practice.
- Maintain precise, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records for all patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, ensuring a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of national internship and NYSC, or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience, though exceptional newly registered practitioners may be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of optometric assessment and clinical eye care.
- Postgraduate training, relevant professional certifications, and membership in a recognized professional association are distinct advantages.
