Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess patients vision health and detect ocular diseases.
  • Diagnose sight defects such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia, prescribing corrective lenses accordingly.
  • Manage and treat minor eye diseases, performing necessary clinical procedures within the scope of optometry.
  • Educate patients on proper eye hygiene, contact lens care, and preventative vision maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical and surgical teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient electronic health records in compliance with hospital standards.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Current and valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board of Nigeria (ODOBN).
  • Demonstrated experience in a clinical eye care or hospital environment.
  • Exceptional professionalism, integrity, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare team.
