About the Role
Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is a premier provider of human resource, technical inspection, and support services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Operations – Waste Management Coordinator II to join our dynamic team and drive environmental excellence across our operational sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning, coordination, and monitoring of solid and liquid waste management for upstream and downstream operations environments.
- Supervise day-to-day waste service provision by third-party contractors, ensuring adherence to company waste management principles.
- Ensure correct client standards and waste disposal procedures are implemented, including hazardous material risk assessments and safety training.
- Maintain full compliance with local and national environmental laws regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of waste while driving waste reduction strategies.
- Monitor waste processing equipment, landfills, and conduct environmental monitoring for water, air, and noise emissions.
- Manage spill response, cleanup operations, and thorough incident investigations utilizing methodologies such as Taproot.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications and technical competencies:
- Degree or Diploma in Applied Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Relevant safety leadership qualifications, certifications, and incident investigation training (e.g., Taproot).
- Demonstrated experience in environmental and waste management, ideally within remote, complex, or large-scale corporate environments.
- Strong expertise in contractor supervision, waste facility operations, and local environmental regulations and permitting.
- Advanced knowledge of safety management tools, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Step Back 5x5, and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills with a high commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
