About the Role
Tetra Tech is a leading global provider of consulting, engineering, and technical services. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Officer for our Abuja office to support the Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) Programme. SPRiNG is a politically-led, evidence-based initiative aimed at supporting Nigerian stakeholders to resolve conflict, improve security and justice, and enhance climate change resilience. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of programme activities by maintaining robust operational records, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating vital logistical support.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end procurement process including vendor sourcing, issuing requests for quotations, bid analysis, and maintaining a comprehensive supplier database in compliance with Tetra Tech guidelines.
- Process and track all vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and supporting the preparation of procurement status and contract management reports.
- Arrange comprehensive logistics for field movements, including vehicle assignments, flight bookings, hotel reservations, and office store inventory management.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute full-cycle event logistics for workshops, trainings, and conferences, ensuring timely venue sourcing and participant coordination.
- Provide essential HR support by maintaining staff annual leave trackers, onboarding new staff members, and guiding team members on travel, logistics, and operational policies.
- Adhere strictly to Tetra Tech security guidelines, risk management protocols, and organizational values.
- Demonstrable professional experience working in operational teams with core responsibilities in programme procurement and logistics.
- Proven expertise in managing the full event planning and execution cycle for workshops, trainings, and large conferences.
- Strong working knowledge of procurement principles, value for money, segregation of duties, and audit compliance requirements.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills, with proficiency in document-management systems like SharePoint and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to identify operational risks and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Desirable: Prior experience working on UK FCDO or other international donor-funded development projects.
