As our Operations Officer, you will play a critical role in coordinating transportation and logistics operations, ensuring optimal service delivery, and maintaining operational excellence. This position requires a proactive professional capable of managing multiple stakeholders and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee daily transportation and logistics operations
- Monitor driver performance, vehicle conditions, routes, and schedule compliance
- Track vehicle movements and ensure adherence to operational protocols
- Maintain comprehensive records of trips, fuel consumption, and vehicle usage
- Liaise effectively with drivers, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Identify and resolve operational challenges with prompt escalation when needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations
- Manage vehicle documentation, servicing schedules, repairs, and renewals
- Prepare regular operational reports and performance metrics for management review
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Transport Management, Logistics, or related field
- 2–4 years of proven experience in transport, fleet, logistics, or operations management
- Strong knowledge of transportation and fleet operations
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and accountability
- Proven capability to coordinate and monitor personnel effectively
