Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, train, and develop the Operations team to achieve peak performance and high standards of service delivery.
- Oversee daily import and export operations, manifests, vessel calls, and transshipment activities to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Ensure strict compliance with company procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements, including the handling of hazardous, out-of-gauge, and reefer cargo.
- Monitor operational KPIs, branch performance metrics, and deliver comprehensive reporting to senior management.
- Coordinate seamlessly with shipping lines, regional and head offices, port authorities, terminals, and third-party service providers.
- Represent the organization's interests effectively in all dealings with terminal operators and port authorities.
- Review and validate operational invoices while proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Develop and implement robust operational policies aligned with global group standards.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, electronic data interchange (EDI), and continuous process improvements across all operational activities.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in shipping, port, terminal, or cargo operations within the logistics industry.
- Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong, comprehensive knowledge of import and export processes, vessel calls, manifests, and transshipment management.
- Prior experience handling specialized cargo types, including hazardous, out-of-gauge, and reefer cargo, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional stakeholder-management, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing operational KPIs, enforcing regulatory compliance, and driving cost-optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with modern operational systems, process improvement methodologies, and logistics digitalisation.
