About the Role
SPIE Oil & Gas Services is a global leader in technical expertise for the oil and gas industry, dedicated to addressing complex operational challenges across asset lifecycles. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and qualified Tow Master to join our offshore project team in Nigeria, driving the successful execution of critical marine transportation and installation campaigns.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Company's lead project marine representative, you will oversee the disconnection and removal of FSO UNITY as well as the transportation, installation, hook-up, and mooring of FSO ADIANA. Key duties include:
- Exercising independent judgment and stop-work authority over unsafe marine operations
- Reviewing and formally endorsing Contractor marine engineering deliverables including towing and mooring analyses, stability assessments, and ballasting plans
- Leading HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, and marine risk assessment workshops to mitigate operational risks
- Maintaining the project marine risk register and ensuring adherence to operating limits and weather-window criteria
- Collaborating with Affiliate Marine Assurance for pre-mobilization inspections, OCIMF/OVID reviews, and vessel acceptance
- Providing senior marine supervision during critical offshore sequences and managing technical interfaces with Contractors, vessel owners, and Marine Warranty Surveyors
Candidates must meet the following professional and certification requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Marine Transportation, Naval Architecture, or Offshore Engineering
- Master Mariner (Unlimited), Chief Mate Unlimited, Chief Marine Engineer Officer (>3000 KW), Barge Master, or Tow Master certification
- Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in offshore T&I projects, FSO/FPSO marine campaigns, and senior marine leadership roles
- Valid offshore medical fitness certificate, OPITO-approved BOSIET/HUET certification, and GSES certification
