About the Role
Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited is a leading mortgage institution licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to deliver exceptional financial services. We are currently seeking a diligent and analytical Operational Risk Officer to join our Enterprise Risk Management team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the bank's assets and reputation by identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks arising from people, processes, systems, and external events in alignment with our strategic objectives and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across all business and support units to ensure alignment with the bank's risk appetite.
- Maintain and periodically update the Operational Risk Register, incident logs, and loss databases.
- Coordinate Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercises and conduct root-cause analyses for significant operational incidents.
- Perform Key Risk Indicator (KRI) monitoring and prepare comprehensive operational risk reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for management and board committees.
- Support operational risk assessments for new products, third-party outsourcing, and business continuity planning.
- Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely remediation of identified control gaps and audit findings.
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in risk management, auditing, or banking (e.g., ACIB, CIA, PRM) is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in operational risk management, internal control, audit, compliance, or core banking operations.
- Strong working knowledge of banking regulations, enterprise risk frameworks, and data analytics tools.
