About the Role

DP World is a leading global supply chain enabler dedicated to making trade flow better across the globe. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Officer, Buyer to join our team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying and procuring the spares, materials, and fuel needed to maintain the continuous, efficient operation of the transport unit at DPW Logistics Limited, ensuring our supply chain operations remain agile and resilient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives, technical requirements, and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for transport unit spares, equipment, and fuel dumps.
  • Negotiate competitive contracts, pricing, and favorable terms with vendors to achieve maximum cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Supervise the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, covering requisition processing, purchase order creation, and delivery coordination.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage vendor relationships, and implement corrective actions to guarantee compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze pricing trends and implement effective cost control measures, including demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant internal policies, legal regulations, and compliance standards to support smooth audit processes.
Qualifications
  • Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in technical procurement, supply chain management, or a related buyer role.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and strategic vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements governing procurement operations in Nigeria.
  • Exceptional market awareness, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within strict budgetary constraints.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships at various organizational levels.
