About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is a premier federal tertiary health institution dedicated to excellence in patient care, medical research, and healthcare education. We are currently seeking a dedicated and professionally driven Nurse Tutor to join our esteemed academic and nursing education team in Ile-Ife, Osun State. In this role, you will play a vital part in training the next generation of nursing professionals, imparting critical clinical knowledge, and upholding the highest standards of healthcare education in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical demonstrations to nursing and midwifery students in accordance with approved curricula.
- Develop, review, and update course materials, lesson plans, and clinical assessment tools.
- Supervise students during clinical postings, hospital rotations, and practical training sessions to ensure competency.
- Assess and evaluate student academic performance through examinations, practical tests, and continuous evaluations.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students to support their professional and personal development.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development committees, and academic board activities.
- Maintain accurate student records and contribute to the overall administrative duties of the nursing training institution.
- A good Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must possess a Certificate of Registration as a Nurse/Midwife Tutor issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Must hold a current, valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Evidence of successful completion, exemption, or exclusion from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills.
