About the Role
The NSIA-LUTH Cancer Center (NLCC) is West Africa's premier center dedicated exclusively to providing exceptional cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Located within the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, our facility features state-of-the-art equipment to deliver international standard oncology care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Technician to join our professional healthcare team and contribute to our mission of excellence in patient support.
Key Responsibilities- Measure and accurately record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Provide essential daily patient care, assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting needs.
- Support patient mobility, safe positioning, and transfers utilizing wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
- Closely observe patients and promptly report any changes in their clinical condition to the registered nurse.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and adequate supply levels across all patient-care areas.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient care records and clinical documentation.
- Comply strictly with infection prevention, control procedures, and hospital safety policies.
- Perform other assigned clinical and administrative duties effectively within the unit.
- Possess a recognized Nursing Technician, Nursing Assistant, or Health Assistant certificate from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience in a recognized hospital or healthcare setting is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a foundational understanding of patient care, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively under supervision as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Display exceptional patience, empathy, and professionalism when dealing with sick or elderly patients.
- Must currently reside in Lagos, Nigeria.
