About the Role
Dr. Peter Odili Cancer & Cardiovascular Hospital (POCCH) is a leading tertiary healthcare institution in Port Harcourt, dedicated to delivering advanced, compassionate medical care at international standards. We specialize in oncology, cardiovascular medicine, renal care, advanced surgery, and precision diagnostics. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Educator to join our world-class multidisciplinary team and drive nursing excellence across our specialized departments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing education programs and training curricula aligned with international clinical standards.
- Conduct regular orientation, continuous professional development (CPD), and specialized clinical training for nursing staff in oncology and cardiovascular care.
- Assess clinical competencies, identify knowledge gaps, and provide targeted mentorship and bedside coaching to nurses.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop evidence-based clinical protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practice guidelines.
- Maintain accurate training records, monitor the impact of educational programs on patient care outcomes, and report staff progress.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous learning, and compassionate, patient-centred care throughout the hospital.
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) or registered equivalent from a recognized institution; a Master's degree in Nursing Education or a related field is an added advantage.
- Current practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a dedicated educator, trainer, or supervisory role within a tertiary healthcare setting.
- Strong expertise in specialized care areas such as oncology, cardiovascular, or critical care nursing.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills.
