About the Role
Wexford College is a premium, co-educational private secondary institution providing comprehensive day and boarding options in Akure, Ondo State. We are currently seeking a compassionate and professional Nurse to join our school community and ensure the health and well-being of our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide immediate first aid, nursing care, and emergency treatment to students and staff members who fall ill or sustain injuries on school premises.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all students, tracking immunizations, allergies, and ongoing health conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with medical guidelines and parental consent.
- Conduct routine health screenings and promote health education, hygiene, and wellness initiatives across the school community.
- Manage the school clinic inventory, ensuring first-aid kits, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals are fully stocked and up to date.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and external healthcare providers regarding students' medical needs and emergency hospitalizations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across the boarding facilities and school grounds.
- Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or relevant nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical or school nursing experience, preferably within an educational or pediatric setting.
- Demonstrated ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and empathy skills when dealing with adolescents, parents, and colleagues.
- Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an added advantage.
