About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital delivering world-class comprehensive diagnostics and treatment in oncology, cardiovascular, and haematological care. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a state-of-the-art environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, verify procedural consent, and provide emotional support prior to nuclear medicine procedures.
- Safely prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals while adhering to strict aseptic techniques and ALARA radiation safety principles.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously during uptake periods, imaging, and post-procedure isolation.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records, document radiation safety data, and ensure compliance with international healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, pharmacists, and Radiation Safety Officers, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of specialized clinical experience as a nuclear medicine nurse.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Post-basic certification in Nuclear Medicine Nursing, Oncology Nursing, or a related specialty is highly preferred.
