About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital delivering world-class comprehensive diagnostics, oncology, cardiovascular, and haematological care. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Nurse to provide exceptional, patient-centered care in a cutting-edge clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough nursing assessments, verify patient identity, and ensure adherence to pre-procedure guidelines.
- Support the safe preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals while adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Implement ALARA principles and maintain robust radiation safety, personal dosimetry, and waste disposal protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, manage therapeutic isolation precautions, and educate patients on post-procedure safety.
- Accurately document clinical data in EHR systems and ensure compliance with healthcare and radiation regulations.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary medical teams, referring physicians, and the Radiation Safety Officer.
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSc. Nursing) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience, specifically within nuclear medicine or oncology.
- Post-basic certification in Nuclear Medicine Nursing or Oncology is strongly preferred.
