About the Role
Vennote Technologies Limited is a well-established ICT company with over two decades of experience delivering enterprise solutions and world-class implementation services globally. We are expanding our innovative product development team in Lagos, Nigeria, and seeking a talented NLP/AI Engineer to help build next-generation Natural Language Understanding and Artificial Intelligence products with a focus on multimodal and cross-channel user interfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Leverage techniques ranging from linguistic rules to transformers and deep neural networks in daily workflows.
- Gather, clean, and prepare relevant datasets for training advanced chatbots and conversational agents.
- Create predefined templates to structure responses based on identified user intents and entities.
- Extract meaningful features from text data, including n-grams, part-of-speech tags, and named entities.
- Research, experiment with, and implement innovative approaches to named entity recognition and relationship extraction.
- Produce performant, production-quality, and robust code adhering to team engineering best practices.
- Continuously improve the performance, accuracy, and scalability of existing NLP solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- More than 7 years of professional experience as an NLP Engineer or in a similar AI role.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks, preferably PyTorch.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Python web frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
